2024 Nissan Kicks
Subcompact SUVs are gaining popularity with buyers seeking a vehicle that is pragmatic and easy to park. The 2024 Nissan Kicks is stylish and offers some of the best technology and features for the money in the extra-small SUV segment. Not to mention, the Kicks’ EPA-estimated 33 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving is a few miles per gallon better than what is offered by several competitors, helping drivers save even more on gasoline.

Engine Type
Every 2024 Kicks model is propelled by a 122-horsepower four-cylinder engine that provides adequate acceleration. A continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) handles shifting duties and drives the front wheels; all-wheel drive is not offered. Around town, the vehicle feels surprisingly perky, so long as the driver is willing to push deep into the throttle and let the engine rev. The Kicks is nimble and more enjoyable to throw around than some larger SUVs. The suspension is tuned for comfort, and it provides a well-cushioned ride even over crumbling and pitted roads. The steering is also accurate and direct.
What’s new for 2024?
The Nissan Kicks rolls into 2024 without any significant alterations. That said, the mid-range SV and top-tier SR trims now come equipped with an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot with a three-year trial plan via the NissanConnect service.
Style
Exterior Features
The 2024 Nissan Kicks is a refreshing reminder that economical does not mean cheerless. The automobile boasts an expressive exterior. For example, the front fascia has a tall grille flanked by black trim and a fair amount of brightwork. Along the sides, hidden A-pillars, fender flares, and a playful wrinkle to its D-pillar underscore that Nissan invested some styling effort in its most affordable SUV model. Indeed, the Kicks has a striking design.
Interior Features
Even though interior styling is not as flashy as the exterior aesthetic, the Kicks is well-built, has a user-friendly cabin, and exhibits a fully developed look. An adult-sized rear seat means it can haul people and cargo without the cramped feeling one might experience in rivals. Splashes of color throughout the cabin do a nice job of breaking up the monotony of what would otherwise be an all-black interior. Despite its small size, cargo space is impressive. Small-item storage is also at a premium in the cargo area and the back seat, but front-seat occupants will not notice the pinch courtesy of an expansive glove box and large door pockets.
Technology
Entertainment
Nissan’s infotainment system is simple to learn and intuitive. The entry-level Kicks S comes outfitted with a six-speaker audio system, a 7.0-inch touchscreen, and Bluetooth connectivity. In turn, the mid-range SV and the top-of-the-line SR trims receive an extra USB-C port, an 8.0-inch display unit, and access to Nissan’s NissanConnect telematics and concierge system. Moreover, owners of the SR trim can order the optional Premium package, adding a Wi-Fi hotspot and a Bose stereo system.
Safety Features and Warranty
Nissan provides a host of standard safety features, and automated emergency braking is standard across the lineup. Nissan Safety Shield 360 is also standard on every Kicks, along with rear automatic braking, blind spot warning, and rear cross traffic alert. Additionally, there is an available Intelligent Around View Monitor that offers a virtual composite 360-degree bird’s-eye view of the Kicks. Available Intelligent Cruise Control helps keep drivers a set distance from the vehicle ahead by braking and accelerating when necessary. In terms of warranty, the limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles. Meanwhile, the powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles.
