2024 Nissan Sentra
Affordable yet polished, the 2024 Nissan Sentra is a budget-friendly choice for a new compact car. Other appealing qualities are a sizable trunk and comfortable seating. Pleasingly, it is not merely a bare-bones model, as it comes outfitted with several useful safety features such as blind-spot warning as standard equipment.

Engine Type
Every 2024 Nissan Sentra is powered by a 149-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive. The gearless automatic also simulates traditional gear changes, and steering effort is predictable and weighty. The Nissan features an independent rear suspension and wheel sizes that range from 16 to 18 inches. Moreover, the Sentra is compliant and comfortable for daily commutes and weekend trips. Its braking system is particularly remarkable, delivering a reassuring pedal feel and solid stopping power.
What’s new for 2024?
Nissan refreshes the Sentra with a new look for the 2024 model year. Its exterior gets new headlights and taillights with a more dignified bumper design and new 16- and 18-inch wheel designs. An Xtronic CVT has also been added, improving Sentra fuel economy and leveling out the Sentra driving experience. Engine start-stop is also new for the 2024 Sentra. The interior is largely the same, though the 2024 Sentra features Nissan’s new logo on its steering wheel.
Style
Exterior Features
The Maxima and Altima lend the 2024 Nissan Sentra their best visual cues. The Sentra utilizes black rear pillar trim for a floating-roof effect, no longer novel though still attractive. Nissan wisely avoids excess flourishes that tend to overwhelm, but the restyled front fascia, headlights, and wheels freshen the look, and the top-tier SR trim’s new rear fascia is a welcome update.
Interior Features
Inside, the Sentra has one of the more elegant designs in this segment. The center of the dashboard hosts a trio of circular air vents above durable climate controls. The interior materials are a combination of soft and hard plastics, but the former cover the surfaces that count and help mask the rest. Trims appointed with the quilted leather upholstery look especially upscale. Nissan also coddles passengers in the front with its pliant, spacious, and supportive Zero Gravity seats. Opting for the available sunroof cuts into the cabin’s headroom but otherwise, adults have plenty of space in the front and back.
Technology
Entertainment
A touchscreen display sprouts from the middle of every Sentra’s dashboard, and it is supplemented by tangible tuning and volume knobs. While the entry-level trim features a smaller 7.0-inch display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, there is also an available 8.0-inch screen on SV and SR trims and USB access in the front and back seats. The larger display is also compatible with better options, including an eight-speaker Bose stereo, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and SiriusXM satellite radio.
Safety Features and Warranty
Nissan packs its compact sedan with a host of standard driver-assistance features. The vehicle comes equipped with standard Nissan Safety Shield 360, incorporating standard rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring. Other standard features include rear automated emergency braking, forward-collision warning, and automated emergency braking. Buyers can also get a 360-degree camera system and adaptive cruise control on all but the base trim. As for warranty coverage, Nissan offers a competitive limited and powertrain warranty. To that end, the limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles, while the powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles.
